Kristine Eidsvik, K.C. has been involved in legal dispute resolution for 40 years, and presently has an arbitration and mediation practice in the commercial and civil dispute areas, after retiring from sitting on the Court of King’s Bench of Alberta for 15 years.

She has conducted multiple commercial arbitrations sitting as a sole arbitrator, co-arbitrator and Tribunal Chair. The subject matter has ranged from energy, cannabis, real estate development, shareholder and construction disputes.

While on the Bench, Kristine was a member of the Commercial Insolvency group of judges who heard oil and gas, mining, corporate commercial and real estate disputes regularly.  She is fluently bilingual and conducted many trials, and wrote decisions, in French. 

Prior to her appointment, Kristine was a commercial litigation partner with Bennett Jones, LLP. She had also been a partner with Fraser Milner Casgrain (now Denton’s), where she had a diverse civil litigation practice, and for many years, led the litigation group both locally and nationally.

Kristine was appointed King’s Counsel (formerly Queen’s Counsel) in 2004.

She is a member of the Law Society of Alberta, The Canadian Academy of Distinguished Neutrals and the ADR Institute of Alberta/Canada.
